Alpinestars Debuts Supertech R7 Helmet: Race-Inspired for the Street

Alpinestars has introduced its new Supertech R7 helmet, designed to be more accessible and street-oriented than its highly successful, race-focused R10 predecessor. The R7 incorporates aerodynamic lessons from the R10, aiming for excellent stability and noise management for everyday riding. Motojournalists recently tested the R7 on both track and street, highlighting its sophisticated design and construction.
Building on the unexpected success of its Supertech R10 race helmet, Alpinestars has unveiled a new offering for street riders: the Supertech R7. The R10, released in 2024, sold out its entire first-year production run in just 30 days, far exceeding company expectations. This overwhelming demand prompted Alpinestars to develop a more street-friendly option.
The Supertech R7 is designed to be more accessible, both in terms of features and cost, while still benefiting from the advanced development of the R10. Alpinestars introduced the R7 to motojournalists at a track day, allowing them to experience its performance on the circuit, followed by a street ride the next day to assess its real-world usability.
Key to the R7's design is its focus on aerodynamics. Alpinestars applied lessons learned from the R10, ensuring that the R7 manages airflow effectively. This translates to improved stability and reduced noise, crucial for comfortable riding at various speeds, from highway cruising to spirited backroad adventures. While differing in construction materials and design from the R10, the R7 aims to deliver a sophisticated helmet experience for riders who demand race-bred technology adapted for the street.
