Bulega Dominates WorldSBK Superpole Race at Balaton Park
Nicolo Bulega secured a decisive victory in the World Superbike Superpole Race at Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary, leading a Ducati 1-2 finish. His teammate Iker Lecuona finished second, with Lorenzo Baldassarri completing the podium. Bulega now holds a significant lead in the championship standings.
Nicolo Bulega, riding his Aruba.it Racing Ducati Panigale V4R, clinched the World Superbike Superpole Race victory at Hungary's Balaton Park Circuit. The Italian racer won the 8-lap event by a margin of 0.894 seconds, showcasing strong form.
His teammate, Iker Lecuona, secured the runner-up position, making it a strong showing for the Ducati team. Lorenzo Baldassarri, also on a Ducati Panigale V4R for Team Goeleven, rounded out the top three.
Further down the field, Alvaro Bautista of Barni Spark Racing Team finished fourth, with his teammate Yari Montella taking fifth. American rider Garrett Gerloff demonstrated an impressive climb, moving from 12th on the grid to finish 8th on his Kawasaki ZX-10RR. Danilo Petrucci finished 16th for ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team.
Bulega's win extends his lead in the championship standings, where he now holds 223 points. Iker Lecuona is in second place with 146 points, while Sam Lowes sits third with 89 points. This performance further solidifies Bulega's dominant season.
