PJ Jacobsen, riding for Rahal Ducati Moto with XPEL, has taken the provisional pole in the initial qualifying session for the 84th DAYTONA 200. The 32-year-old rider recorded an impressive 1:49.359 lap time on his seventh lap, a time that held through the session. Jacobsen aims to maintain this momentum into the upcoming Q2 and secure a spot in the Supersport Time Attack.
Close behind Jacobsen is D3O M4 ECSTAR Suzuki rider Tyler Scott, a two-time DAYTONA 200 pole-sitter, who posted a 1:49.547, just 0.188 seconds off the lead. Completing the provisional front row is former MotoGP rider Darryn Binder of Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse HSBK Ducati, with a 1:49.942 lap time. These three riders were the only competitors to dip below the 1:50 mark during Q1, demonstrating their strong pace.
Richie Escalante (M4 ECSTAR Suzuki) sits in fourth with a 1:50.538, while DAYTONA 200 rookie Alessandro Di Mario (Rahal Ducati Moto with Roller Die + Forming) impressed with a fifth-place provisional spot. Other notable riders in the top ten include Dominic Doyle (Liberty Yamaha Racing), Kayla Yaakov (Rahal Ducati Moto with Droplight), Josh Herrin (Rahal Ducati Moto with Desnuda Organic Tequila), Danny Webb (Team Classic Suzuki), and Blake Davis (Strack Racing). The qualifying session itself was interrupted by two red flags.
