Lindemann Engineering Joins Forces with Gray Area KTM
Renowned suspension and race build specialist Lindemann Engineering, led by Ed Sorbo, is relocating from Southern California to Eugene, Oregon, to merge operations with Gray Area KTM. This strategic move brings two race-focused shops together, aiming to enhance their offerings in motorcycle suspension, race builds, and dealership services. The new combined operation is expected to be fully operational by May 5th.
A significant development in the motorcycle racing and service industry sees Lindemann Engineering, a name synonymous with high-performance suspension and race builds, joining forces with Gray Area KTM. Ed Sorbo, owner of Lindemann Engineering since 2011, is moving his operations from Southern California to Eugene, Oregon, to co-locate with Gray Area KTM.
This partnership was sparked by a mutual friend, connecting Sorbo with the Gray family, who own Gray Area KTM. Sorbo noted the synergy, comparing Gray Area KTM to the spirit of Sportbike Hawaii from years past. The move is currently underway, with a target opening date of May 5th for the combined services.
Lindemann Engineering, originally founded in 1982 by Jim Lindemann, has a long-standing reputation for expertise in motorcycle suspension and crafting race-ready machines. Ed Sorbo himself is an experienced racer, having competed on 84 different motorcycles across 68 tracks, and continues to race.
Gray Area KTM, based in Eugene, Oregon, has established itself as a leading dealership for KTM, Husqvarna, Beta, and Kramer Motorcycles. They are rapidly gaining recognition as a premier KTM-powered road racing shop in the United States, boasting multiple local club championships and having supported Rossi Moor to a second-place finish in the 2023 Junior Cup series. This collaboration is set to create a comprehensive hub for riders seeking top-tier suspension work, race preparation, and access to a wide range of motorcycles and parts.
