MXGP 2026 Season Kicks Off: Everts Claims Fourth, De Wolf Recovers

The 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship season roared to life at the brand-new Bariloche MX Race Track in Patagonia, Argentina. Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing's MX2 squad, featuring Liam Everts and Kay de Wolf, faced the challenging conditions of the season opener.

Liam Everts demonstrated consistent speed and control throughout the weekend. In the first moto, he secured a strong fourth-place finish. He followed this up with another solid performance in the second moto, navigating the competitive field to cross the finish line in fifth. These consistent results earned Everts an impressive fourth place overall in the MX2 class standings, marking a positive start to his championship campaign.

His teammate, Kay de Wolf, experienced a more eventful start to the season. De Wolf showed promising pace early on but unfortunately encountered a crash during the first moto. Despite the setback, he displayed remarkable determination, remounting and fighting his way back through the pack to salvage crucial points. In the second moto, De Wolf focused on a steady recovery, aiming to minimize risks and build confidence for the races ahead. His resilience will be key as the season progresses.
