Royal Enfield recently introduced its new Classic 650 roadster to the North American market, with its debut event held in Florida. This launch coincided with the brand's celebration of 125 years in the U.S. market, featuring various activities during Daytona Bike Week. The Classic 650 is generating buzz as a well-styled, classic-looking motorcycle available at a competitive price point.
The Classic 650 was first unveiled at EICMA in 2024, and it has now made its way across the Atlantic. It boasts aesthetics reminiscent of mid-20th-century British motorcycles, paired with a more engaged riding position than typical American cruisers. The bike is powered by the same 650cc parallel-twin engine found in other Royal Enfield models, such as the Bear 650 scrambler. This engine is expected to produce around 46 to 47 horsepower and 41 pound-feet of torque, offering smooth and accessible power.
Siddhartha Lal, head of Eicher Motors Ltd., which owns Royal Enfield, emphasized that the Classic represents the core of the brand's identity. He noted that the Classic 650 enhances this timeless form with a more powerful engine, honoring Royal Enfield's heritage while providing a modern riding experience. Pre-orders for the Classic 650 are anticipated to begin at approximately $7,499, presenting an appealing option for riders looking for a blend of vintage charm and contemporary performance.
