Sherco, a motorcycle manufacturer based in Nimes, France, is embarking on a new chapter in the United States. Despite facing challenges like recessions and trade issues in the past, a new importer, James Jordan and Sherco U.S., took over in July, signaling an optimistic future for the brand starting in 2026.
One of Sherco's notable offerings is the 250SEF, a 250cc four-stroke that distinguishes itself in the competitive off-road market. Unlike many other 250cc off-road bikes from brands like KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, and Triumph, which are often adapted from existing motocross platforms, the Sherco 250SEF was conceived and designed from the ground up specifically for off-road riding. This unique approach means it doesn't carry over motocross-specific compromises.
Furthermore, the 250SEF is positioned as a premium model, meaning it comes factory-equipped with many features that off-road enthusiasts typically add post-purchase. This includes practical additions such as a cooling fan, an AXP skid plate for undercarriage protection, a coolant catch tank, an LED headlight for improved visibility, and handguards. These integrated features make the Sherco 250SEF a ready-to-ride machine for serious trail and enduro riders.
